TRUST

So today I woke up to the traumatizing news that Internal Security minister and others have passed on. It hasn’t been an easy week either. It started with the plane that crashed in Accra, Ghana then the Egypt flight in JKIA that caused diversion of other flights then the sad realization that news anchor Richard Chacha is paralyzed from an accident earlier this year, then the people trapped in Mlolongo after a building collapses and then this morning we lose a minister and other members in a plane crash.

And earlier last week there was the explosion in Moi avenue and that not being enough I have seen tweeps on my twitter timeline mourning people they have lost recently, friends talking about attending burials. In short the month hasn’t started off in a good note. Drawing the curtains to bad news almost every day. Fear and worry and mourning daily.

And with all that it’s easy to give in to the fear of the unknown and living your life depressed because of all that is happening around you. It leads people to take protective measures of themselves and the people they love. But we can only do enough. There are things we can’t prevent. You can have the largest padlock but that will not protect a bomb from landing. You can have body guards but you cannot stop a plane crash with that. This is not to make you cower in fear for your life but rather to encourage you to place your trust in God. It’s only God who can protect you from whatever disaster that you can imagine. Bad news and tragedies quickly make you start your day in a somber mood and for some it goes all the way to the rest of the week. We should mourn our loss. It is important. But lean on Him and live the rest of your day in peace. You will only be secure in God.

Psalm 56:3 Whenever I am afraid, I will trust You.
Psalm 4:8 I will both lay down in peace and sleep for You LORD make me dwell in safety.
Psalm 31:20 You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence from the plots of man; You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
